IT Director

Innovyx, an Omnicom agency and Email Service Provider, has an immediate need for an IT Director located in our Seattle office. The IT Director leads the IT team implementing and supporting all network and computer-related infrastructure and services. Innovyx is comprised of Linux servers and desktops along with remote users on Windows and Mac operating platforms. This position requires hands-on desktop support while establishing a strategic vision for our local and remote server operations. Reports

The IT Director reports directly to the CTO.

Roles and Responsibilities

Management

  • Exercise staff oversight to ensure new operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with the overall company goals and objectives.
  • Hold responsibility for IT staffing and budgeting projections on a company-wide basis.
  • Work with senior management to asses and respond to company IT needs.
  • Hold regular departmental meetings to review strategic goals and initiatives, promote team building and work to provide growth paths for staff.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, conduct performance appraisals, and delegate work assignments for IT personnel.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and providing appropriate training for IT support staff.

Hardware and Systems Software

  • Establish infrastructure to support and guide divisions and departments in computing and information technology efforts. Experience with Linux servers and desktops along with remote users running Windows and MacOS is a must.
  • Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within infrastructure.
  • Assess new computing technologies and the feasibility of system enhancements to determine potential value for the company.
  • Supervise the ordering, acquisition, inventorying, and disposition of hardware and software.
  • Serve as primary contact with outside vendors in the generation of RFPs, bids, contracts, agreements, and other major vendor interactions.

Systems Operations and Maintenance

  • Maintain the integrity and continual operation of the company network.
  • Ensure the continual functioning of mission critical operations.
  • Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
  • Develop, review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
  • Oversee the management of corporate help desk activities and resolve escalated issues if necessary.

Networking

  • Oversee the planning and management of the company&rsuqo;s telephone and Internet communication system
  • Plan and implement additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure company-wide in coordination with corporate leadership.
  • Oversee the implementation of network security at the corporate level.
  • Anticipates future network needs, identifies proactive solutions to satisfy needs.

Asset Management

  • Establish and build relationships with vendors in conjunction with corporate leadership.
  • Oversee all IT-related purchasing and budget usage
  • Hold responsibility for capacity planning and scheduling vendor negotiations related to IT.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field and five years management/leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational and project management skills; sound judgment; initiative; flexibility; detail-oriented
  • Documented working experience with heterogeneous environments with significant experience supporting Linux, experience with Oracle a plus. Experience with configuration, installation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networks supporting VoIP telephony, microcomputers and other systems; system development, complex project management, knowledge of CISCO network hardware, client/server technology, Internet/intranets.
